Borrowing from Andy Warhol while painting in Liberty Village

My partner Ana and I went out and shot images of Liberty Village. Then by dropping colours from this Andy Warhol piece (click to enlarge), we painted up 3 utility boxes at the foot of Atlantic Avenue (north entrance to the Exhibition GO station). See below.

Disintegration Disintegration @ DeLeon White Gallery

Over the course of 10 weekdays in late May and early June 2008, myself and 9 GTA residents paddled a canoe across Toronto from West to East visiting parts of Lake Ontario and the streams, rivers and ponds of the city (Humber, Black Creek, Etobicoke Creek, Mimico Creek, Grenadier Pond, Cat Fish Pond, the Don, Highland Creek and the Rouge). In each of these bodies of water, I collected a sample of water that is included in this exhibit at DeLeon White Gallery

Urban Canoe Trip

A 9-day performance crossing Toronto by canoe

May 22 - June 3, 2008

This project will be realized on weekdays between May 22 and June 3, 2008. The trip will start at Finch and Highway 427 and crisscross Toronto using Lake Ontario and the major streams, rivers, and ponds in the city (Etobicoke Creek, Mimico Creek, Black Creek, Humber River, Grenadier Pond, Cat Fish Pond, Don River, Highland Creek and Rouge River).

At times, in order to cross from one body of water to another, the canoe will be portaged along city streets/parks. The trip will conclude in the Rouge Valley in the north eastern part of Toronto.

The route will be paddled by 10 GTA residents: Michael Brown, Scott Brown (Brampton), Stephen Brown, Nick Gamble, Soren Mikson, Steve Pollitt, Ben Scholes, Bob Sexton, Ana Silva and Erin Zimerman.
